What is Community Acupuncture?
This is a service that provides acupuncture in a group or semi-private setting. It is a very affordable and accessible way to receive acupuncture treatments.
Friday: 11:30-2:30pm
Sunday: 10-2pm
This is a walk-in clinic, so we do not take reservations prior to the treatments.
Treatments are $44 (25-40 mins) and are in a private room, or community-style when our clinic is very busy.

Jorge Intal, L.Ac., Ph.D.
Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine
Dr. Intal is a specialist in the practice of community acupuncture and integrative community medicine. He possesses over 15 years of clinical experience and training with a focus on providing compassionate, patient-centered primary care. Dr. Intal has practiced at Kaiser Permanente, the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and other non-profit organizations throughout the Bay Area. He was awarded a PhD by Zhejiang Chinese Medical University. He also holds a clinical doctorate in acupuncture and Asian medicine and a master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and completed his bachelor’s in Neuroscience at Brown University. Dr. Intal’s clinical interests and emphasis include TCM internal medicine, oncology, endocrinology, physical medicine, behavioral health, prevention, wellness and longevity.
Walter Homberg, DAIM, L.Ac., AFMCP
Acupuncture & Functional Medicine
Walter earned his bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College of California where he studied Kinesiology: Health and Human Performance. After which he worked as a physical therapy aide at the Northern California Functional Restoration Program, whose goal is to assist patients in rebuilding their life that has been devastated by chronic pain. Patients develop coping tools to construct a realistic picture of what their life could be with a focus on mind-body wellness, the foundation of the rebuilding process. After which he sought further education in the healing arts by attending the Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College of Berkeley, where he obtained his Master of Science in Oriental Medicine (MSOM) and his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Integrative medicine (DAIM).

No, the needles are hairlike in diameter. In fact, most people fall asleep and are very relaxed during their session.

Loose fitting clothing that can be rolled up and comfortable. Also, layered clothing that can provide access to arms and legs is also helpful.

Although many people experience immediate relief, Acupuncture is most effective with regular treatment. This is what makes community acupuncture so effective and valuable as it makes acupuncture affordable and convenient.
