Seed Cycling
The wonders of SEED CYCING
Do period or hormonal difficulties plague you? Are you interested in more fiber and nutritious fats in your diet? Would you like to be more in touch with the natural cycles of the earth? Seed cycling is a simple answer to the above questions. It’s pretty dang simple too!
All you have to do is track your cycle. The first day of your period is considered day 1 of your cycle. From day 1 through day 14 (the follicular estrogen dominant phase) you will eat 2 tablespoons of fresh raw ground flax and/or pumpkin. I ideally like patients to have both seeds but really either do the trick. From days 15 through day 28 (the luteal progesterone dominant phase) you will switch to 2 tablespoons of fresh, raw sunflower and/or sesame seeds. That’s all!
Seed cycling works by nutritionally supporting healthy hormone levels and can help women at any stage in their reproductive life. Seed cycling can help improve some of those bothersome hormonal symptoms like breast tenderness, acne, painful or irregular periods and even PCOS.
If your menstrual cycle is irregular, I suggest seed cycling based on the lunar chart with day 1 being the new moon and day 15 coinciding with the full moon. This can help regulate your cycle and tunes your body with the natural cycles of the earth.
You can easily add the seeds to a smoothie or as a topping on oatmeal or even salads. You really can’t go wrong with seed cycling, so give it a try!
Be well,
